Classes

• Can I ask for another topic as the one listed on the website?

  Yes of course. You can let me know in this form, which you can also find in the section “Class topics”. The selection presented features classes that are “ready-to-taught'“, but I’m aiming at expanding this repertoire. So my answer and my price will depend partly on the fact that I’m able to re-use the content I’ve created for you for other persons.

• How far can you travel?

  Well to be honest I don’t have the answer to that question yet. I’d say it’s all a matter of whether I can make a reasonably priced offer. However we all know that sometimes it takes as long to drive through traffic jams in the city as to drive 30 km on the high way, reason why I have no fixed perimeter.

• Do you also teach online?

  Yes and no. If you ask for information, you have a possibility to tick in the “online” box. This however does not mean that any class can be taught online, quite the reverse actually. I’m the team “online is not the same as in person”, which means that for a lot of recipes, an online class would not make much sense. If an online event is really better suited for you, I will then get back to you with a couple of ideas that are adequate according to me.

• This is not a question but a side-note on languages, as a first thing. I really enjoy speaking (and teaching) in various languages. However, I also have to acknowledge that it makes for a lot of work, especially considering the fact that I draft recipes in a very comprehensive way. Being a one-person company, a multi-lingual website is unfortunately still out of my reach… Maybe later on, I hope. I thank you in advance for your understanding and for the effort to read English if this is not your mother language.

  
  

• Ich bin Deutsche(r). Ich merke dass die Webseite nur auf Englisch erhältlich ist. Was soll ich erwarten wenn ich Sie über die Webseite -beispielsweise über “Ask for information” - kontaktiere?

  Sie werden eine Antwort auf Deutsch bekommen, und wenn Sie “Deutsch” im Formular ankreuzen, dann werden den Kurs und das Rezept auf Deutsch sein.

  
  

• Je suis français(e), je vois que vous n’avez pas de site en français. Suis-je “obligé” de vous contacter via le formulaire en anglais “Ask for information”?

  Non, vous pouvez bien sûr m’envoyer un email si vous le souhaitez (vous pouvez utiliser si vous le souhaitez le formulaire ci-dessous). La traduction en plusieurs langues de tout le site représente un effort très important pour une personne travaillant seule. La solution à cette question se présentera sûrement au fur-et-à-mesure de mon activité. En attendant, je vous encourage si vous le pouvez à jeter un coup d’oeil à la présentation de chacun des cours en anglais, vous y trouverez beaucoup d’informations.

Pricing

• Why is it that prices on your website are indicated “starting from” - instead of a set price? How far may the price vary?

  Because private classes are always subject to slight variations, it is safer to check first every parameter before I give you the price. If you’re a family of 4 or 5 and you want everybody to participate, we might be able to tackle more/a little faster than in a 1:1 class. Sometimes I may check the equipment in your kitchen to adapt the planning. Or you might want a slight variation in the recipe.

  Except for the situation where I rent a kitchen studio for your event, the price usually stays the same, or very close to what is indicated on the website.

Gifts

• How does pricing/invoicing of gift cards work?

  • If you’ve selected one topic, I’ll send an invoice with the minimum price for that class. As stated above (see Pricing), most time there are no changes and this ends up being the final price.

  • If you’ve selected “not sure yet”, you’ll be asked what is your budget, starting from 335 euros which is the minimum for a private pastry class.

    Out of experience, most persons who receive such a gift card will then try to match their wishes to the budget. If they have a very special wish that implies a higher cost, they may of course decide to complete the budget according to their need. Or, if it matters a lot to you to cover the full price of the class, you may also let me know and I’ll send you a second invoice if need be.

  • if your budget is lower than 335€ euros, I then advise to offer a gift voucher, which you can buy online on this site and offers some credit for a class.
